The Babugeri are the ancient protectors of Bansko, Bulgaria. They are said to come from the mountains and from the forests, warding away evil spirits to welcome a fresh and healthy new year. Their suits are made from the long silky hair of the Bulgarian Kalofer goat. They are some of the most fascinating in all of the country. The character is mystical, his identity hidden behind the shaggy fur that dances in the winter winds. Their shiny majestic coats shimmer in the snow, high in the Pirin Mountains. They look even more other-worldly against the pure whiteout conditions behind us. Scroll to see their magic motion.
